MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY STATEMENTS

The aim of Stepping-Stones Childcare Centre is to provide a healthy, happy, caring environment to meet the total educational and developmental needs of young children. Our primary objective is to provide quality education and care for the children enrolled at our centre. We therefore aim to: · Provide an environment which is safe, inviting and sensitive to the individual developmental needs of the child. · Encourage parent/whanau involvement in the management and decision-making of our centre. · Provide a programme that is flexible, stimulating; developmentally appropriate, responsive to children's initiatives and in line with the curriculum guidelines of Te Whaariki. The program will be non-sexist and open to all children regardless of their abilities, race or religion. · Be committed to bi-culturalism and the concept of partnership as contained in the Treaty of Waitangi. · Provide sufficient quality equipment and play material. · Employ staff with recognised early childhood qualifications or support those in training towards such qualifications and to provide a high standard of staff conditions including staff meetings and on going training opportunities. |
